This season sure has had me researching something else, aside from genealogy. Have you been doing the same? I have spent time looking into ice removal and ways to dig out of this winter's historic Erie snowfall. We know that spring is not too terribly far away, and I'm looking forward to the start of a productive 2018 for our group.
We are coming off a great holiday party that had to be cancelled because of the weather. Instead, the rescheduled holiday luncheon provided us with a chance to visit, at length, with one another and enjoy some great food.
The new year also brings us a new move at the Hagen History Center. We will soon be located on the first floor. What's also exciting is that the ESGR website will soon be up and running. Tell your friends about genealogyerie.org and how it can help our community track their roots. Janice Castro, our web editor, will be introducing us to our new site at the February meeting.
Our fiscal year runs from April 1 to March 31. I hope you will continue to support our society through your membership and participation. Please send membership dues to P.O.Box 1403, Erie, PA. 16512.
We have various programs planned at our meetings, thanks to Vice President Helen Shimek. You can find more info on these programs here.
Here's hoping for continued growth, and new discovery about our roots, and those around us.
Jerry Munzi, President
